INDIAN MOM DRIES CLOTHES ON BALCONY OF DUBAI’S PALM ATLANTIS’; HOTEL REACTS | WATCH

A viral video of an Indian mom drying clothes on the balcony of an ultra-luxurious hotel in Dubai has sparked a mix of amusement, criticism, and a response from the hotel itself. Instagram user identified as Pallavi Venkatesh, shot a video of her mom, who was drying clothes on the balcony of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. 

Venkatesh shared the video on her Instagram handle with the caption, “Moms just momming at Palm Atlantis.” As Venkatesh’s mother hangs a pair of shorts to dry on the guard rail, the camera instantly shows another balcony where clothes were hanging for drying in the sun.

While some users called the drying clothes on the hotel balcony an ‘ill-mannered act’, some of them found the video interesting and applauded the mother-daughter duo. “When you are rich enough to book hotel rooms in Palm Atlantis, then you shouldn’t care about what people think of you or how your manners are, also this is the mosg effective way of drying clothes,” one of the Instagram users wrote.

However, apart from the light-hearted comments, the video has garnered criticism as hanging clothes on the balcony is not allowed in Dubai. “The problem with desi parents is the toxicity that whatever they do is right. That's how our generation has been embarrassed by our parents all our lives,” read a comment on the Instagram post. 

Palm Atlantis Reacts 

Amid massive criticism, Palm Atlantis reacted to the viral video. The official Instagram handle of the luxurious hotel 'atlantisthepalm' applauded the Indian mother in the comment section and said “Mom duties. We hope you enjoyed your stay! (We include a retractable drying cord in every bathroom so that you can dry your clothing over the bath).” The video has so far garnered more than 1,70,000 likes.
