EMILY ATACK ENJOYS COCKTAIL WHILE CRADLING NEWBORN AS SHE'S SEEN FOR FIRST TIME SINCE GIVING BIRTH

New mum Emily Atack looked blissfully happy as she enjoyed her first public outing with her newborn baby son this week.

The Inbetweeners actress, 34, and her boyfriend Alistair Green welcomed their first child into the world together last month, a son named Barney James Garner.

An emotional Emily announced the news on social media on June 20th and told her fans all her "dreams have come true" thanks to the arrival of her beautiful baby boy.

The Celebrity Juice star and Alistair, who is the son of Emily's late step-uncle, have seemingly settled in nicely to life as a family of three, with mother, father and baby spotted enjoying a day out at a north London café this week with the new mum enjoying a cocktail.

Dressed in a chic, long black dress, Emily looked besotted with baby Barney as she sipped on a drink while her son enjoyed a bottle of milk. As they left the eatery, nuclear scientist Alistair carried Barney in a baby carrier while Emily walked to the car.

Announcing Barney's arrival last month, Emily shared an adorable snapshot of her new bundle of joy and told her followers. "We have a beautiful son. Barney James Garner. All my dreams have come true." Emily had previously kept her pregnancy under wraps until New Year's Day when she revealed her baby bump in a social media post.

She expressed her emotions at the time, writing: "Hello everyone, it's been a little while but I'm back with some news. I'm delighted to share with you all that we're having a baby! I've never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time." She continued with heartfelt honesty: "Please go easy on me. Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting - a bit like when you've just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.

"I've got to know my body on such an insane level. It's made me appreciate the one I've been given SO much, I'm doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I'm growing. We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons. I'm so happy to be writing all of this to you all. You've always stuck by me through the years, do stick around to watch me enter my mum era. Christ. Let's go."

Emily had her fair share of high-profile romances before finding love with Alistair, including with flings with celebrities like Giovanni Pernice, Jack Grealish, and Harry Styles. Despite the media buzz around her previous relationships, Emily has maintained a low profile when it comes to her personal life. It wasn't until September 2023 that she was spotted looking cosy with Dr Alistair, sparking rumours as they strolled hand in hand in London after enjoying a laid-back afternoon drink.

At the time, an onlooker remarked: "She had a cocktail and Alistair ordered a beer. Emily looked to be having a great time and couldn't stop smiling. When they left they were holding hands." It later emerged that Emily and Alistair, 37, have actually known each other for decades, thanks to some family connections.

Shortly after Emily announced her pregnancy in January, it was revealed that Emily's famous mother, actress Kate Robbins, and Alistair's step-mum are actually sisters - making the new parents technically step-cousins. It's thought Emily, who is around five months pregnant, and scientist Alistair have known each other for around three decades, thanks to Emily's aunt Jane Garner meeting her boyfriend's late dad Stephen Garner during the early nineties and eventually tying the knot in 1994.

Alistair is not just a new parent but also an academic whiz from the University of Manchester, where he bagged his PhD. According to the University Website, he's a total brainiac who delved into "Materials scientist and electron microscopist specialising in the degradation of high performance alloys for nuclear and aerospace applications". Tapping into his expertise, he's currently smashing it at Jacobs as a Senior Consultant and Technical Lead in Core Materials.

Prior to giving birth to Barney, a pregnant Emily revealed her son's gender during a chat on BBC Breakfast. "I'm six months pregnant and I wasn't going to say this, but, I am going to say this... I'm having a baby boy," she couldn't help but divulge whilst chatting about her advocacy work for introducing affirmative sexual consent in relationships. She didn't stop there, expressing her dreams for her son: "So I want him to be a part of a really positive change and I want him to grow up knowing he can talk about these things openly and enjoy his life. I want him to be on the right side of history."

Emily opened up about her challenging pregnancy towards the end of her third trimester, revealing to her followers: "Overwhelmed by all the messages of support, thank you. I'm stuck at home and very sick. So your kind messages really do cheer me up. So do MandS ginger biscuits, turns out."
