TORI SPELLING REVEALS SHE'S KEPT SEVERAL PLACENTAS, HAS EATEN ONE SEASONED: 'IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD'

"My mom taught me when I was young, 'Try everything once.'"

Freezers aren't just for ice cream. In Tori Spelling's case, they're also for placentas.

The actress revealed in her recent misSPELLING podcast that she currently has two of her placentas stored in her freezer. “Unsure which child," Spelling said. "So unless I have the biggest placenta in the world, there's two vats in there.”

“And this is normal," she clarified. "Because there's all that fancy stuff. They say it's good luck to eat it, or it's good luck to bury it, or it's good luck to have it sent and made into that powder, and they put it into pills. I'm just too lazy to send it out."

Spelling then apologized to a pal for continuing to store her younger son Beau's placenta at her house. “I'm really sorry to my best friend Jess because his is still in her freezer," she said. “Because I had a C-section and complications, we had to stay in the hospital for a bit, and I said, 'Jess, can you take the placenta home? They've given it to me, and I don't know what to do with it.'"

Like a "proper best friend does," she "did take it home," Spelling said. "I feel like she has asked me a few times over the last seven years to take that back. And I say, yep, next time I'm there."

Spelling also shared that she and her ex-husband, Dean McDermott, once ate a placenta together. "Dean's an amazing chef," she said. "He cooked it and seasoned it. And it was actually really good. My mom taught me when I was young, 'Try everything once. If you don't like it, you don't eat it again.' And I believe in that philosophy."

There's been plenty of debate in recent years over the purported benefits of eating a placenta. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned against the practice — even in capsule form.

Spelling shares five children with ex-husband McDermott. The former couple separated in March after 18 years of marriage.
