Step 1: Take half a teaspoon of borax, 8 teaspoons of sugar and one cup of warm water in a bowl. 

Step 2: Stir the ingredients well until the sugar and borax are dissolved.

Step 3: Now dip cotton balls and place them around your house where there are chances of ant infestation.

Use Salt 

Table salt (tips to reduce salt intake) is also an excellent ant repellent. You can create a line of salt at the entryways of your kitchen, doors and window sills. Salt creates a barrier that repels ants. You can also make a saltwater solution and spray it on the designated areas.
